Home Visit Doctor is a private medical booking platform that connects you directly with experienced, fully vetted UK General Practitioners for same-day primary care consultations in the comfort of your own home, hotel, or office.

Our doctors provide comprehensive primary care services, including treatment for acute non-emergency illnesses, chest infections, ear, nose, and throat issues, minor injuries, joint problems, skin conditions, private prescriptions, sick notes, and specialist referrals.

No. Home Visit Doctor is a non-emergency primary care service. If you or someone you are booking for is experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency - such as severe chest pain, signs of a stroke, difficulty breathing, heavy bleeding, or severe trauma—you must call 999 or go to the nearest A&E immediately.

You see transparent pricing upfront before confirming your booking. Each doctor sets their consultation fee and there may be an additional fee depending on your location from them and also the day of the week. The total fee shown at checkout shows the final total and there are no hidden fees. The cost of the home visit includes any problem which you have mentioned at the time of the booking.

If a prescription is required, a prescription will be given within the cost BUT please be aware that the pharmacy will charge you for the drug. It is important to know that even if you are exempt from NHS prescription charges, this does not apply to private prescriptions. Most drugs cost around £15 but if the drug is more expensive, the pharamcy will charge you more.

Other costs may apply including a request for a letter, a fit note or if you ask the doctor to see you for an additional unrelated problem or of course if you ask the doctor to see another member of your family.

Once the booking has been confirmed with a doctor, you will be sent an invoice and the doctor will not be dispatched until the invoice is paid in full. You can pay securely online using any major credit or debit card or alternatively make a bank transfer.

With regards to refunds:

• Full Refund: If you cancel your booking more than 3 hours before the scheduled appointment time, you will receive a 100% refund.

• Partial Refund: If you cancel within 3 hours of the scheduled time (or after the doctor has already departed), a partial refund will be issued, minus a standard £50 call-out fee to cover the clinician's allocated time.

• Clinical Cancellations: If a doctor initiates a cancellation prior to or during triage for safety or scope-of-practice reasons, you will receive a full refund. It takes 3-4 working days for the refund to return to your bank account or payment method.

We maintain strict standards for all clinicians on our platform. Every doctor on Home Visit Doctor is:

• UK-trained with at least one year of post-qualification GP experience.

• Fully registered on the GMC GP Register with an active Licence to Practise.

• Holders of MRCGP - postgraduate training in General Practice

• Cleared through an Enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS background check.

• Fully insured with private medical indemnity cover and public indemnity cover

Our platform does not provide traveling chaperones for home visits. If an intimate physical examination is expected to be required, our doctors will conduct a pre-visit phone call to discuss this with you. Where available, you can request a same-sex doctor, or arrange for a relative or trusted adult to be present in the room during your consultation.

If a doctor determines that a safe examination environment cannot be established without a chaperone or specific clinic facilities, they will conclude the visit safely, advise you on appropriate NHS or clinic alternatives. Our team will discuss a partial refund after discussing the case with our clinician. The amount refunded will be dependent on how much time our doctor has spent.

Your doctor arrives equipped with a portable diagnostics to conduct a thorough medical history and physical examination (checking blood pressure, heart sounds, chest, ears, throat, and oxygen levels (if clinically indicated). They will discuss their diagnosis with you, formulate a treatment plan, and arrange any needed prescriptions.

If your doctor decides medication is necessary, they can issue an electronic private prescription sent directly to a local pharmacy of your choice for instant collection, or provide a physical private prescription. Please note that the cost of dispensing the medication at the pharmacy is separate from the visit consultation fee and is set by the pharmacy.

Your doctor completes detailed clinical consultation notes within 12 hours. If you request, we can send the consultation notes to you and these can be shared with your NHS GP practice or with any other health care provider. We do not share your notes with your practice directly and will not write any letters to your GP practice/ health care provider without a further charge.
